Rugby Touch Tournament Rules Overview

General Rules:
Game Duration: League games last 15 minutes, split into two 7-minute halves with a 1-minute break. Tournament times may vary.
Start and Restart: Games begin from the halfway line upon the referee's signal. Play begins by a kickoff (drop).
Touch Down/Try: A try is scored by grounding the ball behind the try-line with downward pressure.
Touch: A touch is valid if made with the hands on any part of the body, ball, or clothing, and must be claimed by shouting "Touch."

Conduct:
Fair Play: Players falsely claiming touches that did not occur may face penalties. Repeated offenses can lead to a 1-minute ban from the game.

Play Placement:
After being touched, the ball must be placed immediately at the touch mark.
Offside Line: The offside line for defenders is 5 meters from where play starts. Quick passes require defenders to retreat 5 meters before making a valid touch.
Interceptions: A failed interception attempt leading to a penalty. If this occurs within 5 meters of the try line, a penalty try is awarded.

Penalties and Discipline:
Penalty Procedure: The referee will mark the spot of the offense. The penalty must be taken from this spot, with the defending team retreating 10 meters.
Disciplinary Actions: Verbal abuse or improper conduct can lead to a Yellow Card or a Red Card, with no substitutes allowed for red-carded players. Players may face further disciplinary actions.

Team Composition:
Players: Each team is allowed 7 players on the field and 3 reserves, totaling a 10-man team. Continuous substitutions are possible from the referee's side.

Respect for Officials and Players:
No Verbal Abuse: Referees will not tolerate verbal abuse, excessive claiming, or confrontational behavior. Such conduct may result in immediate ejection from the game and subsequent disciplinary hearings.
